I have been asked by many patients if it is ok to substitute
Splenda for NutraSweet. No, No, No! The chemical sucralose,
marketed as Splenda, has replaced aspartame as the number 1
artificial sweetener in foods and beverages. Aspartame has been
forced out by increasing public awareness that it is a
neurotoxin, causing chronic illness world wide. Splenda is no
different. It is simply chlorinated sugar; a chlorocarbon. VERY
DEADLY.
Chlorocarbons are never nutritionally compatible with our
metabolic process and are wholly incompatible with normal
metabolic functioning. This makes them effective insecticides
and preservatives. Preservatives must kill anything alive to
prevent bacterial decomposition. They will also destroy normal
liver cells, preventing detoxification. They has also been shown
to calcify kidneys, toxify the brain and attack the nervous
system. They can cause cancer, birth defects and immune system
destruction.
The FDA has approved Splenda as a food like they did with
Aspartame. Will they fool the public twice? Of course they will.
But we all have free will to make choices. A better sweetener
option would be Stevia, a natural, plant based sweetener with no
calories. Stevia not only supports glucose metabolism and aids
in cardiovascular health, but it is reported to be 300 times
sweeter than sugar Please choose wisely when sweetening.
