With the world going a bit mad, I thought it would be helpful to
re-visit Stress Reduction. Stress is the most insipient killer
of people today. Stress is responsible for 70-80% of the disease
in America. Stress Reduction is a must in today’s society for
longevity, health and happiness. Here are some simple rules for
fighting this unseen killer.
1. Stress awareness begins with recognition and awareness. As we
become aware of stress we can begin to deal with it.
2. Humans resist change. To learn to relax, we must learn to
break our old habits of Stress Reduction and Substitute more
productive reactions such as clear thinking, calmness and
relaxed understanding.
3. Stop addictive behavior. The seeds of addiction stem from
“Stimulation Dependency” in our youth. Just say no if you really
care.
4. Relax after meals. Allow 30 minutes of quiet time to help you
digest your food.
5. Allow 1-2 hours per day for problem solving. Excess worry
will produce more problems and is not considered quality time.
6. Take at least 30 minutes per day for relaxation time, whether
it be meditation, deep breathing, visualization or simply a walk
in the park. Let go of the world’s problems at this time.
7. Sing and dance daily.
Try these tools for one month and see if you notice a change in
the way you view life inside and around you.
